Changes

The last thing I wrote was written by a different me.

The me that is writing this now is different to that one because millions of changes have taken place at a microcellular level.

Who knows what this new me might achieve? Especially considering the further microcellular changes that’ll inevitably take place in the future.

The you reading this now is a different you to the one that read the last thing you read, because millions of changes have taken place at a microcellular level.

The next changes to take place are determined by millions of influences, including our hopes, desires, aspirations, and beliefs.

Our cells take programming instructions from our waking dreams, and part of our programming is to exercise some choice over what to dream about.

Change is happening all the time.

The one thing we can truly say with certainty about any situations, people, or places is that they will change as time passes. After all, aren’t the changes that take place our reference point for the existence of the passage of time?

Given the amount of influences, imagining that we really have much direct control over all the changes that take place is probably realistically inaccurate.

What we do have some control over is what we notice, the changes we decide to focus our attention on.

We construct our reality in the moment (given that it’s ever-changing), based on what we notice – the evidence which serves to confirm our interpretation of what we’re presented with.

Try picking a colour to notice in the world around you. I can guarantee that having done so, you’ll notice more and more of that colour in the world. It doesn’t mean that the world is changing to become increasingly that colour. The colour is coming and going in the world around you all the time, it’s just that you’ve put a filter on what you’re choosing to notice.

The same principle applies to anything you actively hope to notice. For example, if you look for moments of happiness, you’ll find moments of happiness. Everything you could choose to look out for is there somewhere at times, such is the scale of constant change happening all around us all the time.

Meanwhile, all the time, we change, everyone else changes and the entire universe around us changes. There may be theoretical limitations as to the scope of these changes, such as time, coinciding catalysts, and energy, but theories are disproved and replaced constantly as part of the ongoing process of change. How many things that have been considered impossible in the past are now routinely accepted as reality? Mundane and taken for granted even?

I’m going to stop writing now because the changes that have taken place whilst I’ve been writing this have contributed to a desire to do something else, aligned with the changes I’d like to notice taking place in future.

That last thing you read was written by a different me, and read by a different you.

The next person you encounter has changed.
